Please could you tell me the name of the book this recipe came from? My mum had this book when I was small (I recognise the photos) and I have been trying to track it down with no success. If I remember correctly there was a pirate ship cake and a train cake and horse stables too, I would love to find it. Thank you!
Yes- well remembered- the pirate ship is on the front cover. It was our favourite cooking book when we were little. Just had her find it in her kitchen. Details are:
'The Sainsbury book of Children's Party Cooking' by Carol Handslip, first published in 1983, reprint in 1984/5. Printed in Hong Kong. Cathay Book 1993.
Thank you! I am now on a book finding mission, I think I've found a second hand one on Amazon and I've spotted one on ebay so I hope soon to be the very excited owner of this fab little book. My daughter turns 5 next month so it might be one of each cake! I used this book at school in food tech for an end of term assignment for the theme "Celebrations" mine was "Bonfirenight", I remember a soup, some caramel shortbread, toffee apples and a drink called Bonfire Fizz... Really can't wait for my book to arrive! Big thanks, Fiona
